The Hermitage is a National Historic Landmark standing on 650 acres of rolling meadows and woodlands. The recently restored mansion exhibits the most complete collection of original furnishings and personal belongings of any early presidential home in America. Six rooms retain rare original wallpapers. This beautiful plantation was more than just a home to Andrew Jackson. The magnificent mansion was his haven, a peaceful shelter from political tension and turmoil. Experience Tennessee as it was 150 years ago. Arrive to a hospitable welcome by a historically costumed interpreter who will guide you on a lively tour, recounting a colorful life of our nation's seventh president, his family and daily life at The Hermitage in the early 19th century.

Before leaving the plantation, visit Tulip Grove, the home Andrew Jackson built for his nephew, Andrew Jackson Donelson, who was his personal secretary in Washington, and his niece, Emily, who served as his official White House hostess. On today's tour, your visit includes The Hermitage mansion, grounds, garden, Jackson's tomb, original cabins, Hermitage church, museum, film and plantation tour. Register for this tour on Registration Form E.

Note: Please dress comfortably and don't forget to bring bottled water, lip balm and sunscreen.

Guest Activity:
Jack Daniel's Distillery/Shopping at Lynchburg Town Square
(Lunch on your own at Town Square.)
9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
$44
Folks have always come to Lynchburg with a thirst to know more about Mr. Jack and his Tennessee Whiskey. Now there's a place here in the Hollow to satisfy that thirst. Nestled between a rolling hill and the Mulberry Creek, the Visitor Center tells the story of the people, place and process that give Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey its character. The structure houses everything from rare bottles and jugs to items from Mr. Jack's life and the famous stone statue of the founder.

Jasper Newton (Jack) Daniel was a life-long resident of Lynchburg, Tennessee and founder of the distillery that was registered "No. 1" with the U. S. Government in 1866. The making of the Tennessee whiskey was set down by the founder and has been maintained and preserved for over 125 years. Lynchburg, approximately 70 miles south of Nashville, is the only place this sour mash whiskey is made. Jack Daniel's Old No. 7 is a simple reminder that some things just never change. Unlike bourbon, Jack Daniel's is charcoal-mellowed smooth, drop-by-drop through 10 feet of charcoal made from sugar maple. Remaining true to Jack Daniel's original recipe and charcoal-mellowed character means folks today enjoy the same sipping whiskey awarded seven international gold medals, including the one collected by Mr. Jack Daniel himself in 1904 at the St. Louis Exposition and World's Fair. It was honored then as "the world's best whiskey." The black and white label on Jack Daniel's Old No. 7 is much like the whiskey itself in that it has not changed since Jack Daniel registered his distillery in 1866.

Today, available in more than 130 countries, Jack Daniel's Old No. 7 continues to make friends around the world. And folks still have plenty of nice things to say about it. Like our good friend and spirits writer Mr. John Hansell who describes Old No. 7 as having a "richer flavor and greater influence from the barrel -- caramel, vanilla, charcoal and oak -- to marry with the fruitiness of the whiskey." After the distillery tour, we will visit the charming shops on the Town Square where you have numerous choices for lunch on your own. Register for this tour on Registration Form E.

Note: Please dress comfortably. This tour requires a lot of walking and stair climbing

How to Achieve the Impossible
1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Billy Riggs
Billy Riggs has been speaking publicly for more than twenty-five years and has sold more than 150,000 recordings of his speeches. He is the author of nearly 250 different recordings of his messages and three books, the latest of which is entitled Replace Your Grand Illusions with Grander Realities. He holds two master's degrees and was the founder and chairman of three organizations. He resides in Austin, Texas, and was one of the first 300 speakers in America to be recognized as a Certified Speaking Professional.

Billy was a multi-millionaire by age 18, but only in Turkish Lira. His name regularly appears on the front page of the Wall Street Journal, but only on the address label. He has three children. Two of them are adopted, and he's still seeking a good home for the third.

Billy is also a world-class illusionist who has been featured on twelve cruise ships, and has performed before audiences as large as 20,000 people. He has appeared (and dis-appeared!) at the MGM Grand and Paris Hotels in Las Vegas, Caesar's in Lake Tahoe, and the Tropicana in Atlantic City. Look for him this fall in his own national PBS television special. But the accomplishment he is proudest of is that he is an Eagle Scout and the Cubmaster of his son's Cub Scout Pack in Austin. Because his programs reshape the attitudes of his audiences, they call him "The Attitude Dude!"

At NAA's Opening Night Event, THE STAGE IS SET for an amazing opportunity for attendees to see a private concert in Nashville's historical Ryman Auditorium with one of country music's beloved bands, Diamond Rio.

With their 1991 debut single Meet in the Middle, Diamond Rio's rich vocal harmonies helped define the "young country" movement of the early 1990s. Their many hits also include Mirror, Mirror, One More Day, Norma Jean Riley and Beautiful Mess. Diamond Rio's chart successes earned them four CMA awards for vocal group and induction into the Grand Ole Opry. Between 1991 and the present, Diamond Rio has charted a total of thirty-three singles on the U.S. country music charts; five of which reached number one.

Ticket for this event is included in Conference and Show Full Pack and Super Saver #1 registration packages. Additional tickets can be purchased on Registration Form E.
