2007 - International Ringman Championionship Winner


July 18, 2007, San Diego, CA - Angie Meier of Ennis, Texas was awarded the prestigious title of International Ringman Champion at the 58th International Auctioneers Association Conference and Show in San Diego. Seventeen competitors participated in the NAA's first â "ringman" competition. This year's competition included auctioneer/"ringman" teams consisting of husbands and wives, fathers and sons, and competing siblings.

Angie is a fourth generation Auctioneer and operates Meier Auctioneers with her husband Craig. Angie and Craig met at the 2000 International Auctioneers Association Conference and Show in Norfolk, VA. Angie and Craig were the recent winners of the World Automobile Auction Team. Craig was Angie's Auctioneer during the IRC competition.

The first runner-up in this year's competition was Delvin Heldermon of Sulphur, Oklahoma. DeRon Heldermon of Guthrie, Oklahoma was the second runner-up. Additional finalists in the IRC competition included: Bandy Assiter of Weatherford, TX and Santo "Sam" Grasso of Baltimore, MD.

An essential member of the auction team, the "ringman" interacts directly with prospective buyers, answers questions, encourages bidding and informs the auctioneer of bids. "Ringman" competitors displayed their talents and skills during the National Auctioneers Foundation Benefit Auction, where they were judged on their interaction with the audience and their ability to communicate bids to the auctioneer.

As the 2007 International Ringman Champion, Angie will receive a championship ring, trophy and recognition as the world's best "ringman."
