2006 NAA IAC Men's Champion


John Nicholls of Fredericksburg, Virginia was crowned the international bid-calling champion men’s division at the 18th annual International Auctioneer Championship (IAC) held Orlando, Florida.

John Nicholls is Vice President of Nicholls Auction Company in Fredericksburg, VA, and a second generation auctioneer. He is a graduate of Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC, with a BA in Psychology and a MS in Personnel Services. In 1990, John graduated from the World Wide College of Auctioneering in Mason City, Iowa. Nicholls Auction Co. has five offices throughout the state of Virginia, and specializes in real estate auctions conducting 100+ auctions per year. John currently conducts five (5) wholesale auto auctions per week for Fortune 500 companies and is a licensed realtor.

John is an active member of the Virginia Auctioneers Association where he has served on the Board of Directors and numerous committees. He also serves as a featured instructor at the World Wide College of Auctioneering in Mason City, IA. John is also one of auctioneer's at the prestigious Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction. These multi-million dollar auctions are held twice a year in Scottsdale, AZ, and West Palm Beach, FL. John is active at Spotswood Baptist Church in Fredericksburg, VA, and serves on the Boards of Virginia Community Bank, the Spotsylvania County Economic Development Authority, the Rappahannock YMCA, and the Joe Gibbs Youth for Tomorrow Foundation.

Some of John's accomplishments include the following: 1990 Virginia Auctioneers Association Rookie of the Year, 1994 Virginia State Champion Auctioneer, 2003 Virginia Auctioneer of the Year, 2003 World Automobile Auctioneer Champion ( Nashville, TN), and 2006 NAA Men's Division Champion of the International Auctioneer Championship ( Orlando, FL).

John considers his family as his greatest accomplishment, and loves to spend time with his beautiful wife of 16 years, Lisa, and their gorgeous nine year old daughter, Sophie.
